The Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations is honored that you are considering visiting Best Western Tin Wis Resort... Situated on Vancouver Island's West Coast, Tin Wis overlooks the Pacific Ocean where, each spring the entire world population of Pacific Gray Whales travel by on their migration north.

Until the turn of the century, the location of the lodge provided a safe landing place to Nuu-chah-nulth whale hunters during even the roughest storms. For several decades after, Tin~Wis, which means "Calm Waters", was the site of a First Nations Residential School. Today, the Resort and Convention Center is owned and operated by the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations.
